Minnie (Korean: 민니; Japanese:ミンニ), born as Nicha Yontararak (มินนี่ ณิชา ยนตรรักษ์), is a Thai singer, songwriter, and actress under CUBE Entertainment. She is the main vocalist of the South Korean girl group I-dle.
She made her solo debut on January 21, 2025 with her first mini album HER.
Early life[]
Minnie was born on October 23, 1997,[1] in Bangkok, Thailand and is a third-generation Thai Chinese.[2] Minnie attended Wattana Wittaya Academy and studied music at Grammy Vocal Studio in Thailand.[3]
In September 2014, she participated in the Cube Star World Audition in Thailand and came to South Korea in 2015 after her mother encouraged her, calling it a "once in a life opportunity".[4]

Pre-debut[]
Minnie was first revealed to the public on March 22, 2016, where she was introduced as a member of the trainee group Cube Tree.[5]
On November 5, she was featured in Jeon Soyeon's performance stage at Unpretty Rapstar 3 concert. In June 2017, she participated in a promotional video for Rising Star Cosmetics along with Song Yuqi and Shuhua, future members of (G)I-DLE. The same year, Minnie was given an opportunity to feature in Line Friends' "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and six songs in "Dance Party! - Children's English Songs".
2018–2019: Debut with (G)I-DLE and collaborations[]

On April 18, 2018, Minnie was revealed as the sixth and final member of (G)I-DLE.[6] The group officially debuted on May 2 with their first mini album I am. She is known for having a unique, attractive and soothing voice.
In their second album, I made, Minnie participated in composing, songwriting and arranging "Blow Your Mind" which was first released through "To NEVERLAND". A self-directed music video was released. Minnie confessed that she makes songs on piano and is taking MIDI classes to improve composing. She was credited in composing "For You" for (G)I-DLE's Japanese debut album, LATATA.
On October 15, it was announced that Minnie teamed up with Wengie, a Chinese-Australian YouTuber for a collaboration song "EMPIRE" on October 18. "EMPIRE" debuted at number 22 on the Billboard World Digital Songs.
2020:"Getaway", "We Already Fell In Love"[]
In October 2020, Minnie sung "We Already Fell In Love" together with Miyeon as part of Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol soundtrack.[7]
2021: King of Mask Singer, So Not Worth It. "Money Honey"[]

On February 28, Minnie appeared on King of Mask Singer. As the masked singer 'Cockle', she sang "D (Half Moon)" by DEAN, and she impressed the panelists with her emotional and dreamlike voice. On the show, she also declared that she wanted "to break down the prejudice that non-Korean vocalists don’t have good pronunciation or that they don’t understand the lyrics."[8]
She made her acting debut as one of the lead actors in the Netflix series So Not Worth It, which started airing on June 18.[9][10]
On September 23, the singer featured in "MONEY HONEY", a collaboration song with Thai rappers Fucking Hero and UrboyTJ.[11] The song features lyrics about love that can't be exchanged with money or any other materials. It was released as a digital single on music streaming app Joox.[12]

2023-2024: "Expectations", "Pink Your Moment" and renewal contract[]
On March 9, 2023, a collaboration single with British singer Anne-Marie was released, titled "Expectations".[13][14]
On April 26, 2023, she released the promotional single "PINK YOUR MOMENT".[15]
On November 30 during the MMA Awards, Soyeon said that all of the contestants have renewed their contracts. On December 2, Cube Entertainment officially announces the renewal of all (G)I-DLE members' contracts.[16]
2025-present: Solo debut with Her, first victory[]

On December 3, 2024, Cube Entertainment confirmed that Minnie is currently preparing her solo debut, scheduled for mid-January 2025.[17]
On January 6, a teaser image was unveiled, announcing a release for the next day.[18] In a following post, they revealed the title as "Blind Eyes Red".[19] Its music video was released on January 7.[20]
On January 7, it was announced that Minnie will be releasing her debut mini album on January 21,[21] later revealed to be titled HER.[22]
On January 31, she received her first award for "HER" on Music Bank, but she did not attend or participate in the show itself.[23]

Minnie is an emotional vocalist who highlights her unique and soft tone. She has a unique tone and pronunciation that is dreamy and yet refreshing , and many people say that Minnie's voice makes them feel like they are in a moist fog . She mainly takes charge of the introduction of the song and plays a decisive role in leading the mood and capturing the listener's ears.[26]
Dance[]
The dance is very neat and comfortable. In addition, the arms and legs are long, so it looks cool. It is a style that shows many traces of effort by dancing the choreography according to the standard. There are many reviews saying that it feels like dancing as the choreographer told me. There is a saying that Minnie's fancam is a direct cam that is good for choreography that is easy to watch.[27]

Owner of a dreamy yet mysterious atmosphere. Her attractive eyes are characterized by a combination of half-closed eyes and three-hundred-eyes . Many say that her closed eyes are attractive even when she doesn't act with facial expressions. Her round face is also a characteristic, and her forehead is especially pretty. In addition, her large eyes with only double eyelids can create various images depending on the styling, so this advantage is often utilized.[28]
In the beginning, they mainly advertised with her haircut, but since the full fringes caused a lot of publicity, they kept it.
